The Ultimate Guide to the Sordin Supreme Line
With so many models and variations, it can be hard to understand which of Sordin’s ear protection is right for you. We put together a guide to help you choose exactly what you need out in your field.

This guide will tell you about the features for the main three models in the Supreme product family. We’ll give you the basics for each of the three, then we’ll talk about the different variations and extra features in detail.

The Classic Sordins

Originally designed for the military, Sordin‘s active hearing protective gear is built for action. Sordin uses the same foundations when crafting each model, ensuring that all models meet the highest base standard.

Sordin’s active hearing protection is produced in Sweden with robust materials like ABS polymer, non-corrosive stainless steel and brass. Every Sordin can withstand temperatures as low as -40°F to as high as 122°F. Other standards for Sordin’s active ear protection include:
  • Intuitive keypad for adjusting volume and settings
  • Ambient sound reproduction with Sordin HEAR or Sordin HEAR2 technology
  • Sizing adjustments
  • Memory volume setting
  • Low battery warning
  • Operation by two AAA batteries
  • Waterproof battery compartments
  • Automatic, battery-saving shut off after 4 hours

Sordin’s team continues to craft innovative gear for more than 30 years. No matter which product you choose, Sordin‘s standards ensure you are getting premium comfort, quality and protection.

The "big three" in the Sordin Supreme line

The Supreme line has three main models of active hearing protection earmuffs: the Pro, the Pro-X, and the MIL. We’ll give you a brief description of each here, but keep reading further to learn about the exact distinctions and features of each.

The Supreme Pro model features SordinHEAR ambient sound reproduction technology, enhancing your hearing so you can focus your attention on your other senses. This headset has one microphone on each ear cup for ambient sound reproduction and crystal clear directional hearing. This technology captures all sounds, amplifying quiet sounds while simultaneously lowering dangerous ones to a safe level.

The Supreme Pro-X uses the same structural framework and features as the Supreme Pro but builds upon the technology. The Pro-X takes ambient sound reproduction to the next level with Sordin’s HEAR2 technology. HEAR2 features four different audio profiles – hunting, shooting, focus and comms – so you can easily adjust your hearing to your surroundings.

Built like tanks, Sordin’s MIL models have Sordin’s standard features of the Pro but with additional protection and communication elements for withstanding military conditions. MIL models feature one set of loudspeakers for the SordinHEAR ambient sound reproduction and an additional set of loudspeakers for communication, which continue to work even when the hearing protector is turned off.

Each of the three has at least one variation, or added features. Keep reading to understand the difference between each.

Model variations

Slim: wider headband, leaner cups

Slim verions of the Pro-X and MIL models have an ultra flexible headband, which is great for users with wider head shape. The adjustable headband ensures that you can get the perfect fit as well. The cups can be removed from their mounting points and attached to ARC rail adapters, further increasing the utility of the Slim models.
  • Available for the Pro-X and MIL models.

SFA: like iron shields for your ears

The SFA, or Sordin Flexible Attenuation, version provides maximum protection from sound damage, bringing up the SNR of your headset by 4-5 dB, depending on the model. The added protection comes from increased cup volume thanks to the SFA booster ring and thicker attenuation foam than on the standard models. All SFA variations also feature an ultra-flexible Slim-type headband.
  • Available for the Pro-X and MIL models.

Neckband: comfort during the entire mission

Instead of a headband, neckband variations come with a high-mounted neckband. The nylon band sits high enough on the back of the neck so it won’t tug on your collar or prevent you from looking up. Adjust the size with the hook and pile strap on the neckband for maxiumum comfort and the perfect fit. Ideal for anyone who regularly wears hats or helmet.
  • Available for the Pro-X amd MIL models

LED: excellence in the details

LED variations feature an LED light on the left ear cup. Whether you’re on an early morning or late night hunt and need to stop to look at your map, the light will give you the visibility you need. The light also shuts off automatically after 3 minutes, saving battery and the hassle of turning it off. The Pro-X LED version always comes with ultra-comfortable gel ear cushions and a 400-hour battery life.
  • Available only for Pro-X models.

Arc Helmet: built for operators

These versions doesn’t have a headband or neckband. Instead, it’s designed for mounting onto an Arc rail, making it the top choice for those who wear helmets.
  • Available only for MIL models

CC: Integrate your comm system

Instead of an AUX input, the MIL CC has a Nexus TP120 plug, so you can connect an external 2-way radio, dual or single push-to-talk (PTT) device. The MIL CC features a 16 cm flexible boom microphone that your can move out of the way when you don’t need it.
  • Available only for MIL models.
